Band of Brothers : A Review

Part 1 CURRAHEE

Directed by Phil Alden Robinson

The USA is in war against Japan. Many Americans are gathered and tried as volunteer for air force, army, navy, etc. but the short-film series focused on AIRBORNE. Those are persons jumping from the airplanes to fight the enemies for additional 50 dollars that’s made 100 bucks a month for those volunteers.

Camp Toccoa, Georgia

Part 1 is all about the training a paratrooper must have before coming to war. With special mention to Easy Company. And the main character was not focused to the buddies Lt. Winters & Nixon but to their higher official Sobel, forgot the rank it’s not important.

With noted lines..”You people are at the position of attention!”… “Open and pour all your can tin!”…”Why are you here Private Gordon, you have 15 minutes to the top and back and I’ll be watching you! What are you waiting for?”…”Pornography, contraband!”… Paris HIlton is okay.

Special meal for the change of pace…”I want Spaghetti - Sobel.”

Rank upgrade. Training goes on and on… until they have their final training - the JUMP as certified paratrooper from the aircraft 1000 feet high. The gravity will take care of the rest. And with some tactics on the ground which Sobel is not good for. Che coglione! Endangering his company many times.

Vat 69 - Nixon. Paratrooper Easy Company is ready for combat, destination Europe. War against German. Jews is not out of the topic. And of course, training must go on. Again Sobel sucks - Maj. Horton!

Lier - Sobel. Lt. Winters go for court marshall. Consequence, other low-rank officers don’t want to serve the company under Sobel. Sobel reassigned.

Easy Company ready to jump. Good Luck! - Gen. Eisenhower

Part 2 DAY OF DAYS

Directed by Richard Loncraine

Drop Zone. Life is just like a roulette, where you can hit to win or go with nothing. Paratrooper’s life is just like that holding their last penny (life) or be shot by enemies from the bottom in a wink of an eye. Losing lot of their friends and fellow paratroops. Mark as D-DAY!

Part II is a shed of blood in the game of life as hero at Normandy.

Jump & Gather. Lt. Winters on the command, secures his new team going to their destination camp. “Gonorrhea” is prone problem (in memory of nervously “Guarnere”…). Easy Company assembled and get ready for the new assault against German Battery. Remember cigarette is deadly given by an army (huh!). Training paid-offs to diminish your enemy. Courage is the name of the game. “Fire in the hole!” - Lt. Winters, the commanding officer.

Losing your buddy, is just like losing your appetite to eat. And the count of day of days begins…D plus 1…plus 2…and so on!

Part 3 CARENTAN
